Free-for-All Friday: 2011 Debut Author Challenge
December 17th, 2010 § 4 Comments
There are several young adult and middle grade books scheduled for release in 2011 that I have been looking forward to reading, so I have decided to take up the Story Siren 2011 Debut Author Challenge! The goal is to read at least 12 young adult or middle grade novels by debut authors.
Periodically in 2011 I’ll be posting reviews of the books I’ve read. Here’s what I have on my list so far (release dates noted in parentheses):
- XVI by Julia Karr, (6th January)
- Across the Universe by Beth Revis (11 January)
- End of the Line by Angela Cerrito, (April)
- Momento Nora by Angie Smibert (April)
- My Un-Fairytale Life by Anna Staniszewski (September)
Take a look at the list on the Story Siren site (follow the links in bold). Are there any books you’re looking forward to reading this year? Let me know in the comments if there’s one that you think I would be interested in adding to my list.
Oh, what fun! I can’t wait to read some of the books you’ve listed! Especially Julia Karr’s, as it’s set in Chicago, my hometown!
There’s so many coming out, by so many of my BB friends. How exciting!
I’m compiling my 2011 reading list next week, so I may borrow a few off your list. I’ve never heard of the Debut Author Challenge but really like the idea, especially since so many are BB friends. I’ll have to come back to find out what else you are reading.
Bridgette – thanks for stopping by. I’d love to see your list. If you post it online, stop back by and post a link.
Anne – Julia’s book is one I’ve been looking forward to for a while. I love her premise and her themes. Let me know when you finish it – I’d love to compare thoughts when we’ve both read it.
thanks so much for joining the challenge! happy reading and good luck!!
